A Sales Incentive Program or Other Benefits Encourage Employees to Stay PutSmall business owners who are hesitant to increase staff salaries as a part of an employee retention plan may want to consider allowing them to earn their raises with a sales incentive program. Knowing that they can work hard and increase their paychecks helps alleviate frustration over a lower salary. Other options that can keep employees happy include flex time, job share options and the option to commute from home a few days a month. For younger employees, small scholarships each semester or the ability to spend an hour of the work day using an office computer to take an online class can really make a difference.
