An Internet-based job can give teachers non-traditional options for earning income during the summertime and the school year. This can provide economic security.

The summertime is a period of adjustment for teachers. Most teachers have a teaching contract for 9 to 10 months per school year. Thus, there is a need to find suitable work to help with the income gap. Traditional jobs for teachers during the non-school year include working in retail, teaching at summer camps, or waiting tables at a local restaurant.

Each of these jobs is fine. However, each job has two things in common. One common factor is each requires physical contact with a daily commute. Another factor is each has to be performed at a specific time based on management.

There is another solution for teachers who would like to earn income during the summertime. These are jobs which can be performed without a rigid schedule. Additionally, each job can be performed during the regular school year around a teacher's day job.

An Internet-based job is a good option for teachers who want to earn additional income without working at restaurants or libraries. Here are non-traditional jobs for teachers with flexible or semi-flexible schedules:

Curriculum Developer

A curriculum developer has the responsibility of planning and reviewing school-related materials to make sure the material meets state guidelines. Some school material includes books, workbooks, and tests.
