Reactions to certain colors are personal and highly profound. Online Marketers now use this technique to produce sales on the Internet.

Most savvy business and marketing people notice that certain colors have a strong affect on a customers buying behavior. Color meanings vary in different cultures worldwide. Most who study color theory find more similarities than differences in this method. Consequently, many smart marketers use color theory in web page design to attract customers, and make sales.

Black

Most think of black as a dark, powerful, and mysterious color. Black symbolizes the darkness of night before the beginning of a new day. Consequently, black symbolizes a new start. Use black to show a new powerful influential company on the move. Warning: On the downside Black is a depressive in large amounts.

Blue

Think of a bright and beautiful clear blue sky. Blue is the sign of trust and honesty. Use small quantities of blue to show a commitment to truth in all business endeavors. Too much blue makes people hesitant to make a business decision.

Brown

The color is regarded as an earth color and the color of reliability. Use brown to influence customers beliefs and concepts in the company's trustworthiness and honesty.

Gold.

This color symbolizes wealth and high honor. It is used in decor by many Feng Shui Masters to bring luck and good fortune. Use gold in web pages to show success and to influence people. Too much gold in the web page design causes people to be overly concerned with money. Also thought to cause corruptive behavior.

Copper

This wealth color spreads good vibrations (energy) to the visitors on the web site. Copper, like gold, is thought to bring good fortune and influence people in a positive way.

Green

This is the color of the American Dollar. Green is thought to bring good fortune. Online Marketers suggest using green fonts in web pages to encourage visitors to click a link or buy products. But, too much green causes envy, jealousy, greed.

Orange

This is a very social color. Color of action. A sign of pleasure and friendship. Orange is a good color for a website that focuses on children, fun, family.

Red

This fiery color represents wealth and good luck. Use sparingly in web pages. Too much red causes intense emotions. Many marketers have assumed that small quantities of red in links causes the viewer to take immediate action. That is why they usered in sales pitches on web pages.

Silver

The symbol of the metal element. Thought to bring wealth success beauty. Use for a professional and opulent image.

Violet

Violets are the symbol of a talented individual who is very ambitious. It is the color of artistry and literary creation. A mixture of fire (red) water (blue). This color in a web page encourages creative talent. Attracts artistic individuals. Too much of these colors doubles any emotions present.

Yellow

A symbol of the earth. Symobolizes mind and high intelligence. Use to stimulate the intellect. To encourage learning. Use to draw attention. Yellow amplifies other colors in the web page.

White

The color of purity, White reflects light and multiplies making spaces appear larger. Decorators use this color to create harmony. The same effect is possible on a web page. Use white space or background to make the web page reader friendly.
