Finding affiliate advertising networks is one step to starting an Internet affiliate marketing home based business. Learn about online affiliate marketing advertisers.

Internet affiliate marketing programs are one method of starting a home based business online. One of the steps to starting a website is to find advertisers. Before taking this step it’s important to understand Internet affiliate market programs, exactly what the business entails and how they get paid.

What is an Internet Affiliate Marketing Advertiser?

The Internet advertiser is a company or in some cases an individual who markets their products or services through a business partner (a.k.a. affilitae). The partner is often a home based business that’s created a website. The partner places advertisements (ads) on their website. When an Internet searcher finds the partners web site and clicks on the ad, the partner or affiliate gets paid either by the click or a commission if the Internet searcher buys a product or service.

How to Find Internet Affiliate Marketing Advertisers

Before attempting to start a business relationship with an advertiser the affiliate must first have a niche market, an Internet domain and create and design a website. Most advertisers want a business relationship with a business partner that has a niche market website that pertains to their product or service

As an example of a niche market lets use a website for the home brewing beer enthusiast. Some examples of advertisers ads that an affiliate will put on their home brewing beer website are:

  • Advertisers that sell home brew beer kits
  • Advertisers that sell draught beer equipment
  • Beer of the month clubs
  • Advertisers that sell beer apparel
  • Advertisers that sell party favorites

Internet Affiliate Marketing Network Companies

The these marketing network companies have a host of various advertisers in their networks. The affiliate applies to become a member of the network. Once they become a member, they can then apply to various advertisers to become one of the their business partners.

Once approved the affiliate can start placing ads on their website. The advertisers will either pay per click on the ads or pay a commission when a product or service is purchased. Once a commission is earned, the advertiser pays the network company and the network company in turn pays the affiliate.

Stand Alone Internet Marketing Advertisers

Some advertisers have their own marketing programs and pay their business partners directly. The best way to find some of these advertisers is to search the Internet for companies that sell a product or service that relates to the market niche.

Lets use the home brewed beer scenario. Search for companies that sell home brew beer kits as an example. Once a website is found that sells home brew beer kits, look for a link with the word “affiliate” on the website. Normally the link is located with the “about us” and “contact” area links of the website.

It’s important that the advertisers that are chosen have products or services that are associated with the niche market website. If the affiliates has a website centered on the home brewed beer enthusiast, placing an ad for dog food will lessen the creditability with the advertisers and the consumer.

Once a business relationship is started with the advertisers, the affiliate can start placing ads on their website. Once ads are placed on the website, the next step is to start getting Internet traffic to the website. Before embarking on creating a home business with Internet affiliate marketing, make sure that there’s plenty of time available and plenty of energy to stay the course.
