Parents running their own businesses who want to start an enterprise have really struck it lucky in the last few months as several highly helpful sites have sprung up.

Some parents who have been working from home for themselves claim to love the flexibility it affords them. In fact, many parents have started their own business by using the internet to allow the flexible working times required to suit your baby's needs.

Many parentls have, furthermore, commented that many of the people they meet in pre and ante-natal classes need to work, but I don't want to put their baby into childcare and want to stay at home. In an effort to help these fledgling businesses, a number of useful websites have been set up providing all sorts of business advice for free.

One new parent in the UK has started www.homeworkingmums.co.uk, which is a blog site which is full of inspiration if you want to start your own business. The site contains start-up stories from mums that already work from home. As the site builds, it will be packed full of real-life start-up stories all contained within one site.

Another recent parent has been running MumsClub since the beginning of 2007. The site is somewhere parents in business can go for advice, readily meet lots of like minded people and browse relevant business information.

It is possible, therefore, to meet other like-minded mums with all levels of experience, from a business-parent-to-be looking for inspiration through to an established business owner willing to share their experiences and advice.

The beauty of MumsClub is that all mums can easily build both nationwide and local relationships or ‘buddy up’ with other mums in the same line of business. MumsClub also offers features on subjects like networking, writing a business plan, and other useful business topics, alongside news items, advertising opportunities and a marketplace.

Another excellent site is www.workingmums.co.uk, which again provides an excellent source of advice for mums who are working, either back in their old workplace, or in their own fledgling enterprises.

Of course, being a working parent, whether at home or not, can be a difficult and highly stressful undertaking. However, it can also be highly rewarding, both mentally and financially as you get the best of both worlds in seeing the children grow up, whilst still contributing to the financial situation of the household.

For all budding business people considering working from home, or setting up in business, there are several sites, in addition to the above, that you can turn to for friendly and free advice from people who have been in exactly the same position as those just about to embark on this exciting journey.
