Writing a Press Release is one way to attract the media to any website.

A good Press Release will answer the "W" questions (who, what, when, where, why) providing online news media with important details about the business. Avoid writing a Press Release that reads like an advertisement. The media will ignore this type of Press Release. And all efforts writing and distributing the Press Release will be wasted. It is truly possible for one Press Release to be viewed by millions on-line. Or appear on the search engines when relevant search words are entered into the search box by individuals looking for a similar business. Many on-line marketers experienced a substantial increase in web-site traffic after distributing their Press Release on-line. This will also happen to anyone who follows the basic guidelines. Writing an attention grabbing Press Release is not complicated, get started now.

The Press Release Title

Write an attention grabbing title without sounding like an ad. Many experienced writers believe simply using the product or service name in the title is adequate. Always try to avoid advertising gimmicks or tricky titles with zillions of exclamation points!!!!!! This is an instant turn-off to editors. And unprofessional.

First Paragraph

Try to hook the reader with an interesting leading statement about your product, business, or service.Summarize using the "W" questions (who, what, when, where, why) journalistic formula.

Main Body

Write the most important information about the product, service, or business first. End with the least important point the public should know about the business. Include at least 3 to 4 paragraphs.

The Closing

This is one of the most important sections of any Press Release. This is how the public will contact the business. Include your name, email address, web link, or affiliate link. Also, Include a physical address or telephone number if appropriate.

Length

Keep the Press Release short, around 300 to 400 words is perfect. A shorter, well written, Press Release will increase the odds in the writer's favor that the online media will publish the content. Editors often think twice before publishing a long winded Press Release because of limited space in their publications or simply because most readers will not take the time to read a long Press Release. The online reader prefers their information in short easily digestible bytes.

Press Release Final Draft

Set aside the finished Press Release Draft for a few days. Return to the Press Release with fresh eyes. Go over the draft diligently. Check spelling, grammar. Once satisfied, it is time to submit to Press Relase sites online like freepressrelease or Pressbox. Additional Press Release Sites are readily available online. Search "Google" for even more sites.

There is a technique to writing a fundamental Press Release and the main purpose here is to establish the basic rules so that even the novice might write an attention grabbing Press Release the very first time.
